I was asked to do a tutorial, so here you go, lovelies! I tried. Hope this helps!

What I use:

NailTek Foundation II base (not pictured)
Nfu Oh Cuticle Remover
OPI - Parlez-vous
Milani - 3D (#510, holographic gold color)
Sephora by OPI - Only Gold For Me
Seche Vite Top Coat
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
Cotton balls
Studio Tools nail polish remover (I use the 100% acetone; from Target)
Wooden manicure stick
Concealer brush (this is an old make-up brush that I use to clean up my nails; in this case, I actually used this to create the gradient effect)

I use this to remove my cuticles—amazingness.



1st step: I always use the a wooden stick clean my cuticles. Place the cuticle remover on your nails, wait a few seconds, push ‘em back with the wooden stick, and then wash your hands.

2nd step: I use NailTek II Foundation as my base coat. Sadly, I couldn’t find it to show you guys for this tutorial. I have a 20 month old son who goes through my nail polishes daily; he thinks everything is a toy, but I know it’s in the room somewhere. Anywho, I use about 2 coats of this before applying nail polishes, especially cremes. It’s also a ridge filler so your nails look super smooth. I love it!



3rd step: Apply 2 coats of OPI - Parlez-vous.

4th step: I apply one (or two if you want) coat of Milani - 3D above the purple (after it’s dried for a couple minutes).

5th step: When I do gradients, I use sponges. I just moved recently so I misplaced my sponges :( I had no choice but to use my clean up brush (old concealer brush). I slowly pat the gold downwards. You gotta be gentle or it’ll ruin both the gold & purple colors. If you used a sponge, this would be so much easier.

It still gives a great gradient look, I think! You don’t want it too thick though because you still have to layer it with Sephora by OPI - Only Gold For Me PLUS a top coat.

6th step: Layer the gold with Sephora by OPI - Only Gold For Me. I LOVE THIS NAIL POLISH. I use it so much. Be careful with it though; it does get goopy & thick. If you wanna add more glitters without having to brush on more layers, you can take the stick and apply the glitters separately onto your nail.

7th step: Wait for the Only Gold For Me to dry for a bit. Like I said, it can get really thick so if you were to put to top coat on while it’s still wet, the whole thing gets messed up. As soon as you think it’s safe, apply some Seche Vite Top Coat (love love love this top coat). Here I believe I only used one coat.

I clean up my nails by dipping the brush tip into a bit of nail polish remover & I slowly line it around my cuticles. You can use a simple medium sized paint brush & it should work just fine. I usually do this before putting the top coat.

…TA-DA! You are finished :)

PS: After my nails are all dry, I put cuticle cream on. I use Burt’s Bees cuticle cream. It smells like lemon-honey & it works so well for me because the acetone nail polish remover can be brutal on your nails. I’d suggest to keep your cuticles hydrated often! I do it whenever I remember to, especially overnight.
