Hi everyone! I hope all is well; I haven’t been updating this nail blog is SO long because life is so busy for us nowadays. I just wanted to share a recent mani that I posted on my Instagram (@caleemama) :)

This holiday mani was inspired by @stephstonenails, she is SO amazing! You have to look up her Tumblr & Instagram because she is quite a talented artist. Her mani was featured in Allure magazine, and once I saw it, I instantly ran to my polish collection & grabbed all the perfect colors. I used:

Zoya - Skye
OPI - Skull & Glossbones
Nubar - White Polka Dot
Seche Vite Top Coat

I absolutely LOVE the turn-out! It’s probably my favorite mani that I’ve done on myself all year (with the lack of time I have nowadays, doing my nails gets more and more exciting for me). As always, chunky glitter is a favorite!

Fiiiiinally! A new post!

So I (along with many people, I’m assuming) am so obsessed with the mint color this Spring! This color is called “Aphrodisiac” & it’s by Wonder Beauty Products (you can find her collection on Etsy here). With her collection, you basically receive a little palette/kit that includes a jar with the main color, a bottle of clear coat, and a mixing stick. You have to constantly mix the color in order to get the glitters around evenly, and I literally had to mix before applying each layer. It takes a bit of time, but I like that I can get the glitters mixed evenly and apply it well. You also have to use the brush of the clear coat to apply the color, so it was a bit of a hassle to clean the brush every time I had to put it back in the clear coat bottle. It’s a lot more work than your normal nail polish bottle, but the color was just so damn cute; I had to get it! The best part is that each palette only costs $10 each, and she even accepts custom orders! I think I may have to request a color of my own. :)

Overall, I loved the results. A gorgeous mint with gold & silver hex glitters & gold, silver & green micro glitters. The base mint color is not too bright/neon, and not too light, which is the perfect green for me. Lovesssss it.

Last week, I bought my baby daughter this cute Hello Kitty top & I knew I had to do a mani inspired by it. HK + leopard print <3

Scales nails. Kept it a bit more simple for my first week of school (well in my case, it’s simple). I used Essie - Mink Muffs (love this color!) for the base color & China Glaze - 2030 & Bundle Monster image plate for the scales print.

I’ve been on a glitter craze lately! I can’t resist. What I have on is Essie’s Merino Cool on my index & pinky finger & OPI - Ink on my middle & ring finger. All topped with CND’s Sapphire Sparkle! That stuff goes on your fingernails like MAGIC. Look at how gorgeous the glitter effect is! I’m so in love.

I’ve been meaning to post galaxy nails for a while! When people ask me for a ‘galaxy nail tutorial’, I always refer attackedastorianails :) And this actually doesn’t take as much effort as you might think; I use a sponge, dabbed on random colors & glitter, drew that little galaxy on the middle finger & finished it off with top coat. It was pretty quick!

Henna print by hand. I’m not used to doing any crazy artwork by brush on my nails, but I have an obsession with henna designs (I think henna tattoos are gorgeous) so I wanted to try. I tried, tried..

I was inspired by Robin Moses—she is a nail art GENIUS & is so very talented. She uses acrylic paint & she can work miracles on nails. I honestly wish I had her skills.

The main color I used is Essie - Mambo. It has to be on my top 10 favorite nail polishes, seriously, it’s a perfect nude shade. It’s a mix of dusty pink/peach with a little shimmer to it that you can only see if you look SUPER close, and I love that because sometimes I just don’t like simple, solid colors. The sandy color on half of my middle finger (that you can hardly see; but I also have it on my thumb which is not pictured) is Essie - Sand Tropez.

When I found out about the free giveaway from TOMS+ESSIE from my good friend Megan, I was so bummed out that I missed out on it! They gave away 5,000 bottles of “Essie - One Day Without Blues” before April 5 (the day of One Day Without Shoes) & I kept telling myself, “Okay, I gotta hop on eBay & get my hands on a bottle.” Well it turns out that One Day Without Blues is actually Coat Azure! Exactly the same, just different names. And I have Coat Azure which is perfect. Now I don’t feel so bad :)
