6) Seche Vite has a specific thinner for their top coat. You can find it at certain beauty supply stores; I’d suggest searching around online first. For me, I just have a huge bottle of Seche Vite that I use to refill my little bottle each time. I haven’t gotten the time to grab the thinner; I really should though..

7) Thank you thank you! I love that manicure (explains the icon hehe). Look for floral decals on eBay! SO CHEAP! And one of my favorite decal sellers is Crazy Stripes (not water decals though..they’re like stickers, kinda like Sally Hansens’)

2) Are your Essie or OPI polishes sheer & too thin? I usually use opaque colors, ones that aren’t so see-through. Try picking a color that’s thick, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a light or dark color, just as long as it’s opaque…and once you scrape it off, pick it up with your stamper right away because it can dry very quickly. Let me know how it works out!

3) Yes you can! I have a couple acrylic paint colors, I just never used them. But a bunch of nail techs use it for nail art & it’s pretty amazing. I’m no pro though.

Henna print by hand. I’m not used to doing any crazy artwork by brush on my nails, but I have an obsession with henna designs (I think henna tattoos are gorgeous) so I wanted to try. I tried, tried..

I was inspired by Robin Moses—she is a nail art GENIUS & is so very talented. She uses acrylic paint & she can work miracles on nails. I honestly wish I had her skills.

1) I love them! I have a bunch. I love that they’re cheap & sometimes they have really unique colors. I love their muted colors & nude ones especially because they have a light shimmer. I even remember seeing a green flakies polish, I just never bought it. Application isn’t the greatest, & they take a bit to dry, but if you have patience for it, I’d say get them. The price & colors takes the win!

• Forever 21 - “Lavender” I put “” because every time I go to Forever 21, their polishes are labeled differently. I’ll see two totally different polishes with the same name. But this has to be one of my favorite shades from them, I love this purple.

• Nfu Oh #50 - I have an obsession with flakies & this is a new addition to my precious Nfu Oh’s! I wanted a summer color & I thought this mix would be perfect. I’m loving the green / blue flakies!

• OPI “Alpine Snow” - This is the white I used for stamping

• Konad image plate m61 - the floral design

A couple days ago, Vicky suggested that I do NOH8 nails for the LA Pride Festival which we attended in WeHo yesterday. The kids & I were able to take a picture at the NOH8 Campaign booth, something I’ve been wanting to do since they first began. Unfortunately my boyfriend Mark had work so we couldn’t take a complete family picture, but the photoshoots often come around to LA so there’s always next time. I got a couple compliments on the nails, even from NOH8’s photographer Adam Bouska :) I love his work! But I think the ones who were catching everyone’s attention were the kids with their NOH8 temporary tattoos on their cheeks! :P I loved that we were able to go & show our support. Like I wrote on my personal blog, marriage should not be defined by race, religion, social status, gender, etc. Love is love & marriage should be equal.

I recorded a simple tutorial on Konad nail stamping, for those who requested one a while back. I may post it later, but here’s the photo for now. The base color is Chanel - Jade Rose, the stamping color is OPI - Midnight in Moscow & the image plate is m71.
